New York

My name is Bishwa Bahadur Shah and prior to 2003, I was a Nepali Army major. Then I came to America in hopes of pursuing the American dream. Throughout my time here I have accumulated a lot of career experience by publishing a Nepali language newspaper, owning a subway business, and being an insurance agent.
Currently, I am self-employed. Alongside this I have always been passionate about politics, thus I’ve heavily involved in the Nepali American community in New York. Also, I was a volunteer at house delegate Mr. HB Bhandari’s winning campaign. As the chair, I have two main goals, first that I want to unite all Nepali Americans to get involved in mainstream politics. Secondly, show our strength and recognize Nepali American society’s involvement so we can get benefits from elected officials. We need to realize as a collective that we benefit from participating.
